This is just beautiful. Not one bit of damage. And NO maker's name, of course. Not even a country of manufacture name. The dish is 7 1/2 "x 5"and the whole thing is 4 1/2" high.
The opinion is that this is a butter dish.
I think I will look for a slab of butter made from yellow lead crystal, as I don't want to mess up this beautiful butter dish!

    :-))))

    Thanks for stopping by.

It's a butter dish. For a pound slab of butter apparently, give the size!

wow!..... $3.50?!!?..... I'd say you made off like a bandit on this one, Bonnie. GREAT find! [;>)

Very nice find!! You'll have to get you a 5 lb slab of butter to store in this lovely piece of lead crystal.

very nice; but no idea on maker. the size does seem to lend toward a covered butter dish. Waterford is typically marked and this doesn't look like their Lismore pattern.

TallCakes - thanks! I looked at quite a few on the web for comparison, but none looked like this one. An image search didn't help, either. I imagine this is mid-century, judging from the design.

You can use for real butter, it'll wash.

Use it Bonnie! Crystal is good to use, the price was less than a plastic dish, and you get pleasure every time you use the butter. Wonderful.
I would use one here but butter melts here and goes too hard in the fridge.

Celiene - LOL I know that! I keep my butter in a 1930s glazed stoneware crock made by Pearson's Pottery Chesterfield UK.
This beautiful crystal dish would go on display with the rest of my crystal.
