This badly treated electrician's knife dates to 1967, with the date and phaeon (broad arrow) markings as shown. There is also the military serial number, 910-5285 stamped into the delrin scale, can be seen in centre pic.
Maker was A. Wright & Son, Sheffield.
These are still used today, as can be seen in the photo supplied. It has been heavily ground and sharpened to turn it into n edged blade, which actually makes it useful as a whittling knife for me.
It is really sharp, and the most difficult to open and close I own, due to the very strong spring. It could almost be classed as a locking knife, it is so hard to close!
    Thanks for looking, Bob.

really cool knife/ knives. bobbee ! ? looks like 2 different knives .. hmmm ? lol

those scales almost look wooden. very similar to the old rigging knife I posted... the guy I got it from says that the scales are wooden.. im sure they aren't.

      mine dates to ww1.

      you've got a nice 1 here, no doubt !

Thanks whyatt, the scales do look kind of wooden, but they are man-made, I saw it was delrin on another site. This hardly ever gets used now, it is a real nail-breaker to open! I only open it with needle nose pliers now, as it chips my nail varnish... ;-)

      Thanks for the loves, friends!

Great looking knife, Bob! Love it when everything is there etched into the tang ~ wish all knife makers would do that!!! [;>)
