    Old iron anchor with some decorative elements. Looks like the bottom of the back mounted to something. What is it?

      It is a Victorian English iron umbrella or cane holder hall stand. I believe I seen one very similar, exact to the top for sure, on Antique Roadshow. Possibly Cleveland last week. I also have them listed in the Millers International Antiques books of the eighties.

      Also this may have been mounted as you surmised with a good drip pan or bucket underneath.
