H W Ashford silver dog head whistle. The date isn't clearly marked but this maker made these from the mid 1880s up to the early 1900s. This one looks similar to the ones he made in the 1890s.

When I see your whistles I am amazed at the artistic effort they put into utilitarian objects. This is wonderful.
