Wondering if anyone knows anything about this Bride's Basket. My mom left this to me when she passed away a few years ago. I'm trying to take an inventory of the amazing things she left to me so I can pass them on to my girls some day.
The stand is probably SilverPlate and should have a mark underneath that will provide a lot of info. As far as the glass insert, it is cased glass (layered-white-pink-clear) with enamelled flowers and can be N. American, English or Bohemian. Pairpoint (Peachblow) had a lot of enamelled flowers on their wares like this one.....not saying that it is Pairpoint but something to look up...... (look up Peachblow in on-line sites). It dates from the very late 1800's- early 1900's. The marks on the stand will tell you more as far as date. The glass bowls were often replaced. RER
Thank you for your help. I will do more research tomorrow. The nearest match that I have found is Peachblow, as you mentioned. The metal seems to be silver plated. Do you have any idea of an estimated value? I want to keep it, but would love to have a written record and estimated value for my daughters.
You can probably get an idea on value by looking up similar Bride's Baskets in on-line auction sites like eBay, Etsy etc... can't give values here at CW. Bob
