    This is a antique Hand Stitcher used in the Spanish American War for sewing uniforns. Dated Oct. 21, 1884. Has original box and instructions. Also has original needle. Works great.

      Yes, I found this at a yard sale and the elderly lady that sold it to me said that her great, great grandfather had claimed that his dad had used it to repair uniforms during the war. She said that she thought it was the Spanish American war. So I posted it on here because I did not know anything about it. However the information that "TallCakes" has provided is just wonderful. I am greatly surprised by it's value.
