I purchased this set of 6 pressed back chairs, and as you can see they have a man's head in the back. I was hoping someone could give me information as to who this could be. I have searched and searched the internet, but have had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They may be from the time of the Columbian Exposition - c. 1893 AKA Chicago World's Fair... here's a different Columbus chair... http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/set-antique-christopher-columbus-467743949
