I am asking if anyone knows anything about the history of this gorgeous Ventura Bowl Back Mandolin. I was told by Mose Guitar in San Diego it is in excellent condition. They told me they had never seen a bowl back Ventura before. They also said they had never seen any Ventura that elaborate before as well. Does anyone out there have any clue where I can go to find out more information?

Have you done a web search yet? I'd think that would be a good start..................
I have been searching but not finding much. I know it was made somewhere in the 70's or 80's. The Ventura company is out of business and the man that currently uses the Ventura name has nothing to do with it. However he did say he would do some research. I found this site because someone posted something about one a long while ago. Information is scarce. I see guitars and mandolins but not bowl backs. I was hoping someone could help me here.
Savoychina suggested thids site in an earlier post:http://www.folkofthewood.com/page4855.htm, I think that might be a good place to start since they seem to be a Q&A site....happy hunting and good luck.....
