    I picked up this platter. It's heavy. I'm not sure what the inscription is or the print marks mean? The anchor might be saying it was made in 1953 possibly. What dose RPNS mean? What do the numbers mean? Value?

      I don't think it's and E for EPNS... It looks like an R for the first letter for sure... that's why I was confused.

      It's an "E". Something is either solid silver, in which case it would be stamped "STERLING" or electroplated plated nickel silver. There is no such thing as "RPNS".
