This appears to be cement, cast stone and/or plaster? i don't know, but i do think it's old - like 1920s/30s. i really like it, but i was told in no uncertain terms on the Collecting Chinese FB page that it's 'junk'. oh well! i still like it! this piece stands 13" tall and will look fabulous in my garden.

Still a interesting piece. Looks like they modeled it after a bronze piece. 20-30 date range sounds about right . Maybe used as a planter

thank you Master, flea, and grendel! i really like it too. the inside has been plastered with tar - maybe for use as a jardinere? although no sign that it was used for that. it looks as if it was used as a censer.
