D'ARGENTAL PAUL NICOLAS CAMEO CABINET VASE FRANCE

Hi we have here a petite cameo vase from D'argental at the saint louis glass works France . Paul Nicholas had made a deal with glass works so could produce his own cameo vases
This particular vase was made personally by Paul Nicholas as its signed with the Cross of Lorraine which indicates made by the great artist himself
height 4 1/2 inches 2 inches wide approximately polished pontil
Paul Nicholas was chief designer at Galle's 1895
and was favoured by Galle however when Galle died 9 years later the new management did not suite Paul Nicholas for a further more years up to world war 1 he had designed for Galle after 4 years in war he did not return to Galle's workshops
but to the Saint louis glass works
