I've owned this for 20 years and have no idea what it is. It was a gift, and purchased at an antique store but I know nothing about it. No markings at all. 7 inches tall, 6 inches wide at the widest part. Any idea?

Actually, it's flat on the bottom and the bottom is narrower than the top. I don't think it's a float because it's actually pretty heavy. Its shaped like a vase, but with that opening I can't imagine it being useful as a vase.
