One other thing I like to collect is older Chinese soapstone carvings this is one of my bigger piece over 10inchs tall.that I got a local estate tag sale.At only $75 and 25% discount due to being the second day of the sale I could not pass it up. The design showed that it was a older piece due to size and the how many animals were carved into it. It has 7 different animals altogether has birds, squirrel,dogs? and a goat.. I am surprised it didn't have a monkey also. But it also has a nice floral pattern scratched into it and scratch details add on the animals. looking at similar pieces ones I have it dates to 1870-1890 range.
