Signs such as this first started appearing in 1892 with the advent of the installation of electricty in hotels and public building. The sign was in use for approximately 20 years to inform guest and visitors on the use and safety of electrical lighting.

cocacolakid, Yes this is a replica from around 35 years ago. I can't say I have seen a real one yet.
Yes it is a replica, I have had this sign since 1973. I have not seen a real one either.
