just received this today, took the back cover off to see who the maker of the movement is and when i opened it saw that someone took the movement out and put in a battery, very disappointed that the movement is gone, need to find out who made this so i can find a movement for it, it is about 21" high and is brass.

Looks a little like a cartel clock from Sweden....hard to tell from case I've got one in my show tell somewhere
it does look like a cartel, just looked at some on line from sweden and the french ones, thanks for the info.
does have a much prettier dial ,..im guessing it had a single strike movement with a bell that rang hourly,..that or a time only,..only one winding hole limits options,..good luck sooo many different clocks out there and ww2 wiped out sooo many records in europe
