I found this glass jar at my grandparents house, out in an old storage building. It was buried in the dirt. I cannot figure out what this jar was used for or what came in the jar. It looks as if I had a screw on lid, but I have not been able to locate it.

Likely to have been a candy jar, perhaps at one time used in a dime store or drug store.

That is an idea. I hadn't thought of that. Thank you.

Ive searched the internet, and still no luck in identifying my jar. The candy jar was a great idea but I can't find anything that remotely looks like what I have. Still need a little in identifying this jar. Thank you

I'm thinking possibly a novelty canning jar. The threaded mouth and small opening wouldn't seem to work so well for a candy jar. I found one other with a wire bail on eBay but no maker ID'ed. Without any maker's marks it'll be difficult to ID.
