I bought these spoons recently from Germany. The enamelling is wonderful and the colours are vibrant, I love these colours, I have a Christening set of a spoon and a napkin ring, on another post, with the same enamelling. I think they are in the original box and they are marked B.I and dated for 1927, there is one which is unmarked, why I don't know, unless it was a replacement. I'm not sure what type of spoons they are, they could be sorbet spoons, they have a very distinctive shape with the bowl hammered finished. I'm always on the look out for different types of pieces by him.
    Many thanks for looking

Thank you Scott, it's great finding different things to post from Bernard Instone. These spoons are in fantastic shape for their age.

Thank you kyra, I have another set, they are no were near as nice as these, maybe I should say that they are different. People have their own sense of style.

      Hi,
Spoons were taken to the assay office before enameling. Although closer to the bowl, hammering marks on enameled spoons would be unsafe for obvious reasons (enamel would crack). Meaning, the spoon without marks has never been taken to the assay office. Later replacement is hardly possible.

Thank you IVAN, I wouldn't have thought about this, it makes prefect sense. This is why I love Collector Weekly.
