It takes two or more colours to tango?
Two elements entwined.
Do we know where the term came from?
I see that the term was used to describe deco colour combos on pottery too.
I love the Loetz use of blue on the red in Alfredo's photo at right.
The first ones I was waware of were with black trailing.
The Kralik colour combos can be really cracked!

Interestingly, the Kraliks appear in the Butler catalogs. The term" "Tango seems to have originated with Loetz, but their technical name for all of the shapes and variations was Ausfurhung. 164. The shape on the extreme right photo is supposed to have been "inspired" by Maria Kirshner. And yes, Tango is always a solid color with contrasting accents. If you go to http://www.Kralik-glass.com you and check on Ausf 164, you be able to see the almost infinite varieties: Tango, enameled and cameo.
