    My mom bought me this on her travel to Maine I believe ..years back...Is it a cigarette butt holder...?It is handpainted but not sure of the age..can you be of assistance?

      It's called a Silent Butler, and was used in late 19th-early 20th century for collecting crumbs, scraps and yes, cigarette butts. It's painted nicely!
