anyone have an idea of date of this piece or value
If you open the back and look at the movement, there should be manufacturing information on the lower right corner of the movement. Normally, it may have a two-digit date code like 79 and then say Hermle, No (0) jewels, unadjusted below it. I would place it by style somewhere in the 1970-1980 era. In proper operating condition (keeping proper time, chiming and striking), it would be somewhere in the $200.00 retail range.
THANKS Chris that helped alot and yeah it does work perfect time and chimes every 15 minutes pretty cool actually
I got it for 5.00 lol nice huh?!
There is a clock museum located in Grafton Ma. research them and i'm sure you find all your answers.
