I've had this Chalice for years, a thrift shop find I think. We've used it as a goblet at the Renaissance Faire, for ale or wine, even water!, but it always had a brown brass patina, I would just wash it with soap and water, rinse and dry, and put it away until the next year.
Today at the flea market I found this old mirror, that reminded me of our goblet, and I thought that maybe it could fit as a lid for it. So I got it for $3. a good price for what I think is a pewter hand held mirror. When I got home I got the goblet out of the closet, with the other Ren-faire stuff, to see if it would work as a lid, close, but not quite.
I thought maybe I should clean them a little with Oxi-clean, and some warm water. ??? wait this is really looking beautiful, like a gold Chalice, and I guess it is, gold over a brass liner, and copper, with a silver wash, on the characters around the outside of it. I never have found out too much about this goblet, I thought that it could be a religious piece, but never found out for sure. My son thinks the mirror is for the Gemini Sign.
    Any ideas about either?

I'm out of my comfort zone with these items. I can only say that both are very, very nice!

Oh the Mirror frame has a dia. of 4 11/16" and the Mirror is 4" dia.
The Chalice is 5 7/8" high 4 3/8" across the top and 3 1/2" across the bottom.
The 3 women on the top look a little like Faith, Hope, and Charity.
With 3 winged, horned, man beasts, on the bottom half of the Chalice

Thanks Bonnie, and also for the love. What a surprise it was when I cleaned the Goblet! :^)

Thank you kyratango. Now we'll have to go as Upper Class, instead of Common Folk, to the Ren-faire! :^)

Thanks for the Love from everyone, very nice!
