This clock and I share something in common a 1950 natal year, however it is older than me by some number of months, I was born on the 14th of November in 1950. The clock runs and chimes, but hums very lightly after a few hours. The glass over the face of the clock is foged over and as soon as I figure out to get the movement and chimes out I will clean it.

The chimes can be turned on and off by a lever in the inside of the clock. The chimes sound mechincal and do not reverberate like an analog clock so I leave the chimes off. Electric clocks have never emulated their analog ancestors very well. There are however some quartz movements that chime just like an analog.
