Santa delivered these! Probable from the 30s or 40s. Three glass shelves and in great condition. Both 14 inches tall and 13 inches wide. Decals in fair to good condition.

      What exactly is their function?

There are rules and regulations and guidelines for the health and safety of clients. Many of the tools of the trade needed to be sterilized after use to prevent transfer of certain bacteria and fungus to the next client. Liquid disinfectant and some others were used for this. The tools, such as a comb were dropped into the liquid and stored a certain amount of time. They were placed in the cabinet after the decontamination and were deemed to be ready for use or were placed in the cabinet while being decontaminated.
