This was a wedding gift for my great grand parents, I love the clock and had it "cleaned" and worked on only to have it come back without the key to wind it and getting a hold of the repair place is not working so well. Should have checked Yelp FIRST.
I am hoping someone might be able to tell me how I might clean the face enough to see the numbers. Don't need it new shiney but it would be nice to see the numbers better.
I don't know the age exactly, I know it's an Ingraham. If anyone has info, that would be great.

Take a clean wad of cotton, dampen it with clean water and use it to gently apply a paste of Cream of Tartar. If done with care, this should help to clean and brighten the silvering without damaging it. Don't overdo it. There's only so much that this approach can do and the Silver coating is extremely thin.
