I was just going through a bunch of videos on types of wood today...just got more confused. I need to get a book from the library to id wood types and I am thinking this is a very expensive and more rare wood, I wish I could remember the name of it is it tiger something??? Have you taken out the drawers and looked under them for any name of a company? May be underneath the whole piece, the back of it under a drawer or in the inside after the drawer has been removed. VVery beautiful!

I have looked every where. No name, No marks. I think it may be maple. Not sure what kind of wood was used back then. The vernier looks like feathers.
Pierre-Antoine Bellangé) I think is the maker. I searched makers and his work looks soooo much like what I have. I sure hope I can find out more about it. Thank you for the interest and the help

It would help greatly if the photos were right side up and the entire dresser was seen back and front. Also how the drawers are made - dovetail or nails. Please upload your photos from a regular pc instead of your phone.
