I just got this for $100 i don't think it's useable the way it sits right now. Small crack in it. Says vose and company Albany 1848. I looked it up and was made in Albany New York. Maybe wood or coal? Any thoughts are welcome!

Thank you! Hard to see all the detail in the pictures! And I'm not sure why they keep posting side ways?

What are taking pictures with-an iPhone or iPad? If so, you have to turn device horizontally or sideways to take upright pics for this site. It baffled me at first too:)
It looks like you purchased an older home-may I ask the date of home? I looove old homes!!!

Most of the pictures are already pictures saved in my phone. . The house was built in 1849 and it's huge 6700 square feet! With a carriage house on the property.

Ok-if you take more in future-try sideways. Wow, you have a big house to fill!! That is awesome and sounds like you might find some more hidden treasures here and there!

I just bought the exact same stove in Albany NY. It is also missing the draft plate in the front. It measures 5 1/8" x 2 1/2". I am having one cast for my stove. If you are interested in one for your stove let me know. bobbrunelle15@yahoo.com

Would love to see your stove! You should post it! Mine is more a decoration at this time. I bought mine in Oriskany New York. From an old man that remembered using it as a kid..
