Celine from a Art Gallery that was closing in NY many years ago and not inexpensive . I thought stand looked like a root and they all have numbers on bottom . Is it teak wood ?

They just call it rootwood. Could probably come from any wood with interesting roots.
Wow! wooly mammouth tusk is really special. many years ago, i made jewelry out of small pieces of it.
