About forty years ago, my father was in Hong Kong and purchased this fountain pen. He gave it to me before he died about ten years ago. He told me he was assured that it was a genuine Mont Blanc, but one not sold in the US. The pen is stainless steel and seems finely made and machined. There is a white star in black on the top of the cap and a white star on silver on the bottom of the barrel. The cap says "MONT BLANC germany" and the nib says MB. It takes a standard Mont Blanc ink cartridge. Can someone tell me if this is indeed a genuine Mont Blanc founntain Pen? and the model #? I would greatly appreciate it. I tend to collect Bexley Pens as I live close to their factory, but I do enjoy and use this pen. Thanks Skip Turner cturner004@insight.rr.com.

No, it is not for sale. As it is a gift from my father, I plan to pass it on to my nephew who is graduating from Ohio State University in a couple of weeks. I just wanted to verify its authenticity. Thanks.
I had a pen like this once. I believe it is indeed a genuine Montblanc. A pen collector told me once that these stainless steel versions are extremely rare. I would hang on to it. You might try writing to Montblanc to get more information on the history of the pen.
Posting a photo of the white "star" would help as well as the nib.
Thanks for the responses. I did write to Mont Blanc and they said they could not guarantee it was a Mont Blanc unless I sent it to them to look at, but did say it appears to be a Noblesse model. There is a Mont Blanc star on both ends.
Fakes have the star as well. Looking at the star is one way of telling a fake. The nib is another indicator. You have shown neither. With what you have posted, it is impossible to accurately make a determination of what brand it is, or is not.
I have a similar one given to me by Diners Club International years ago. I have never used it and wonder what it could be worth as Jane writes that the stainless steel versions are extremely rare.
NYC ... How did Diners Club International come to give you one?
As I got them some new members.
So these were given out as awards to Diner Club Card members who recruited more members?
