This item may surprise you. It is an actual land mine! Made by McCoy in 1942, these were state-of-the-art mines that were hard to detect due to being porcelain instead of metal. These are EXTREMELY RARE and are worth thousands. Only three so far are known to exist. Others were most likely detonated or destroyed during the war. They have no types of markings. Just a simple war weapon from a famous manufacturer.

I had a similar Jap one.The fuse was even plastic except the firing pin & spring so metal detectors didn't work on them.

The big question is, is it diffused?
    5. McCoyNelson McCoyNelson, 7 years ago
it is unknown if it is diffused or not

The fuse fits in the bloody hole in the centre top. If there is nothing there, as it appears, and the pottery shell is empty, it is just an expensive planter.

If it has TNT, RDX etc. still in it, it's not harmless & illegal for you to have unless you are licensed.

I have been informed that this does not contain explosives. This is a clay mine shell.
