These vases have been in the family for many years. They were gift to my Mother from my Grandfather who was a merchant seaman in Glasgow,Scotland in the early to mid 1900's. My parents emigrated to Canada in 1951 and the vases have been with us since. Would like to know more about these vases, who made them, year they were made etc....
    Any ideas? Thanks

Love the cranes. You should try flipping the pics right side up and, getting a clear close-up pic of the mark. Will be much easier for people to help you. Try the site gotheborg.com and look for the marks under the Japan section. It is one of the best site for asian porcelains if not the best. Personally I believe they date to the early 20th, but Chinese, Japanese always get me thinking and it is usually wrong. Good luck.
