    George Davidson Gateshead glass works
    date 1880s
    glass dark purple when held up against a strong light
    design shell & coral

      For a while I used a lot of butter dishes (still do) and whenever I see a fantastic one like this I get excited. This one is so intricate and that goes a long way in the magic department. That black glass against the blue swirl backdrop makes magic occur, and it makes one think that it will always posess that magic !~
