This is all from three separate occasions to thrift stores in the last week.
Various pieces of Depression Glass. Previous to last week, I had 0. Sometimes I see the pink kind, but I don't like pink and thus leave it behind.
I think I shall use the tea cup.
Sorry for most horrid photos. Google+ used to have an editing program for photos, but they changed over to some most horrid new Google+, thus neglecting to put in their wonderful photo editor. As such, trying to take a good picture became irrelevant (as I can not make a good pic a great one anymore), and this is the result (a lack of try till I find a good editing program).
Looks like the Princess Pattern by Hocking Glass made from 1931-1935. I started with amber and am going mostly with pink now along with the Vaseline glass and some green.
Thank you, Fort Apache. There are 4 different patterns in the glass. A few are similar.
They must glow well!
The patterns don't always match exactly. a cup can be a bit different than a saucer. The bowl in photo 2 is a different pattern but the others are Princess.
I am thinking the bowl is Florentine No. 2 made from 1932-1935.
I had the hankering for a cup of tea several minutes ago and saw the uranium glass cup on the counter. I thought, "Oh, I will use the cup now!" and thought I might microwave it. Then I realised, it's uranium glass- uranium being a metal, radioactive at that- and thought maybe that is not the best route to a relaxing cup of tea. LOL.
Depends on what it is. A glass cup, unpainted, yes. Glazed ceramic, depends.
What is the condition-- totally intact, with no cracks, chips, or fissures? What is the surface-- glass, glaze, or paint? How rare is this item? Was it meant to undergo hot temperatures? Etc.
Most of them were meant for use.
