My mother-in-law gave us this chair many years ago. Apparently her grandfather, who was newly married to her grandmother in 1869, traveled from Tennesse to New York to buy furniture for their new home. He carried this chair and other pieces back to Tennessee in his covered wagon. The seat has been replaced and it has been freshly stained but everything else is original and in pretty good shape.
If someone has any idea as to what style it is, or the maker, I’d love to hear from you!
Thanks.
