the base is designed as a tree with multiple "branches" on either side. the man and woman are of japanese design. the shade is metal and collapses on itself, hanging to form the treetop. the man is playing some kind of guitar/madolin/musical instrument and the woman is reading. they are removable. i believe it to be pottery.

if anyone recognizes this lamp or has an idea, any help would be greatly appreciated. there are no markings on it to identify it. it was found in a box in an attic, along with a cookbook from 1942. unfortunately, thats all i have to go on and i dont know my antiques or how to identify them.
If you watch ebay for "oriental pottery lamps" or 1950's pottery lamps" you may find an exact match. Delightful lamp...LOVE the turquoise shade !
