I have tried to look this up online and can't find anything. From the label it is manufactured in North Carolina and sold in Pennsylvania. I am clueless as to time period. Any help appreciated.

Why do you think it is a desk? Where is the desk part? How would it be used?

I think they're called bureaus or something.

It may be a blanket chest instead. The top display does not go with the bottom. You still have the furniture co information on back so this is no unexplaine mystery, love your set even though combined married pieces. Best info on the company may be at the history room in the library in the city it was made. They keep a lot of original ads, postcards and info there. The drawer is too big for right under a desk. Welcome to cw !

It's not possible to see the piece in its entirety with a photo such as this. The photo is so cluttered. For any decent advice it's necessary to see the inside of the drawers, the sides of the drawer, and the back of the drawer. In fact, the complete back of the piece would be great.

Also, if you have the name of the manufacturer on the label you could start a search with that. Although it looks like you have half a label.

Looks like what's inside that top piece could be very interesting!

I don't think the top belongs to the bottom - it's a 'marriage' of two pieces.

It's not a blanket chest Phil - I was writing my post while you were posting yours so we crossed in cyberspace - I agree a marriage, but maybe not made in heaven. Cheers.

Thank you all so much for your input! My biggest problem is the incomplete label. I will continue researching.

      I love the top portion.
