A rather attractive art deco cast iron Scotch Tape dispenser. According to a site which seems to know of what it speaks it is from the early 1940s.
The dimensions on this are 8 1/2" long, 5" tall and 3" wide.
In the meantime my computer desk will be looking quite stylish with this. I am wondering if I can get replacement tape for this.

What's the diameter of the tape holder?? maybe you can bandsaw the Scotch packing tape to fit??? Just winging it as my Pats are destroying the Steelers!!!

Thank you very much stuff. My current plan is not to use it. Or get an old roll on eBay. Saw one of these dispensers at the Rose Bowl Today.
