1: SR 90246, Dorati, LSO, Aaron Copland, Billy The Kid , Appalachian Spring, this one i have been looking for in years,
Coplands music is portrayed quite different from other conducters of this music, he conducts at a lower pace then most other condutors who, conduct with fast slam and panace, Dorati conducts with more feeling and thought, which allows new insight to this music, and as always with great sound
from this early Mercury
2:Atlantic 1330, Jimmy Giuffre,Bob Brookmeier & Jim Hall, Western Suite, great music taking jazz into a wild west senario, and great sound quality, i like this one a lot
3: SR 90195, Dorati, MSO, Rimsky-Korsakov, Scheherazade, a most have record, and it does not disapoint, again that great Mercury sound, and Doratis thoughtfull look at this known music, i may not be the best Scheherazade, but i like it a lot anyway.
4: Contemporary S 7540, black label, Sonny Rollins, Way Out West.
This is a true Music and Soundquality legend, i have heard it on SACD, but nothing comes close to the original record of this great music, it has al the space, air, dynamics, great playing artits with Sonny Rollins as the foremost, no one will wish for more then is present on this record.
I feel lucky to own this record, it was originaly imported to Denmark, and this is where i found it, and in mint state, no noise what so ever, only the cover is lttle tarnished, but it dosent have play, fortunately :-)
