Another Craigslist find. This came with a matching full size bed for $80!!!
Sellers stated it was their grandmother's and she's had it since the 40's. Unsure how true that is. Just getting excited about vintage furniture and am wanting to learn!

The hardware is very generic and has been mass produced in the last 20 years. The era of hardware is regency in nature, but easily obtainable at home depot - I do like the traditional style of the dresser very much and the best thing to do is buy what you like - also try to learn in the process and not buy on a whim or a wish that it is "vintage." Not trying to be mean, so please do not take it that way.
Don't take it as you being mean at all. I tried to look all over for any signs of age, I found the drawers had both front and back dovetail joints, which seemed like a sign of some age significance (older than myself). I just looked at the hardware and the screws are definitely newer. I am uploading 2 more photos just to see if I have anything older. I was drawn to this set... to get 2 of anything in the Seattle area for less than $100 is rare.
Mid to late 20th century.
Dovetails are not always a sign of age. Machine dovetails are often found in better quality modern furniture.

Your price is excellent, nobody can argue with that. For that price you made no mistake, but an investment. Also meant to say that books are a big help in finding what you like and are readily available at your library. Also old auction catalogs. I wanted furniture most when I started collecting so I devoured info and there was no internet at the time. Most cities have libraries with a good collection of books on collecting antiques. That led me to selling books on collectibles for about 15 years.

Your pieces are from the 1940's. The hardware seems original. From what I could see after enlarging your photos, they were not made in the last 20 years, but more likely 60 to 70 years ago. They're not antique, but certainly vintage. These mass produced pieces were stenciled with model and job numbers for distribution to major retailers like Sears & Roebuck, etc. Because I had been researching similar markings, I found out that manufacturing stencil numbers were phased out in the early 1950's. So, your pieces are definitely older than 65 years of age.
