Perfect for the snuff box collector and pill box collector alike, this antique French box is a testament to craftsmanship. Made of just three pieces of horn, the frog has great detail and charm. The eyes are yellow metal and so is the hinge. The box closes perfectly with a satisfying snap. The carving is very good, not super detailed but clearly done by someone who loved his craft. Personally, this frog is just very cute! The piece is free from damage, there is some discoloration on the site and at the bottom of the head due to natural variations. no breaks or defects.
Victorian C1840.
Measurements are :2.1" long, 1 .2" wide and 1/2" high.

Pascale, thanks for love and seeking more family members of the frog family. But my family of bugs is big enough so in this animal family, I want to leave it. Besites my collection of Micro Mosaic and Iron Berlin/Silesian wirework jewelry of course i like to keep and still collection. This remains my greatest passion.
Anyway thanks for your research. I know at least that the cost price for such cases is about 10 times as big as I've paid fo. Lucky me again.
