    It has Hussey on it and the number 2. It looks like a very old soldering tool. When you see a wooden handle with a wire binder, you know it is old. I guess late 1800's to early 1900's.

      A soldering iron it is. I remember an incident when I was a kid of three or four when I received burns from one my Dad had.

      How old do you think it is? I'm not in this for money, just the love of tools and their progression.

      I'm 66 ... so 60 years old at least. My Dad never bought anything new either. It would have been third or fourth hand when he got it. It must be almost 80 years old or even more.

      many of the vintage gas hand blowtorches had a hook or holder on top to set the tips into the flame..google vintage blowtorch
