    Hi !

Can anyone tell form a picture if the item is actually an original one ?

It features a girl and calendar for one month only, the January 1891.

It was always lying around the kitchen since I remember couple of years ago our house was going through major refurb and this tray ended up in one of many boxes with other kitchen stuff that had to go to the attic.

    Cheers folks !

      I don't have it. It's not real.

I asked my mother today about it.

She received this tray as a gift, about twenty years ago , from Coca-Cola company representatives. My mom worked in a shop then, her friend chose a pen but me Maa chose the tray. The whole story is happening in, now Croatia , then Jugoslavia.

Back to the attic then and wait another 100 years ?

I wonder if there would be an original calendar page like the one pictured on the tray. Are there pictures of trays from that time to compare with ?

Previous two comments dont seem to me as authoritative enough for my puzzle to be solved.

      Thanks for comments.

You just were not going to let it go were you Ray? It really sucks to find out an item that was in your family for years is worth nothing. The old adage is true, "the truth hurts".

Gee. I've never seen either of you pay so much attention to an absolutely apparent non-item. ;-)

To the owner: Give it to a little girl who fancies it or toss it. My son loves his non-heirloom, yet old and interesting, Coca-Cola items. :-)

Hey, Ray? How can you tell when a Coke glass is the real deal?

When I was like 9 thru 11 I was a bona fide soda jerk. Back when we used syrup and seltzer and people ordered 'vanilla (or cherry) cokes.' Clearly before the child labor laws or before when anybody paid attention. I think a lot about going back to that building and going through their basement if they'll let me; ephemera heaven. Shame what kids are missing today. :-(

That makes sense, Croatia always had a lot of connections with Italy ( well it is just across the sea ).

The first comment actually killed my initial appetite. Knowing absolutely nothing of the matter and with just couple of hours of net browsing I was thinking if it is the real deal the comments would be straight away WOW or BOOOO. So..., yes it does hurt to fall from the cloud to the rocks but hey...it feels good to be back on the solid ground.

Now I do wonder if the time spent on investigating the matter was worth more than the subject itself. Well it was helpful to me and extended my knowledge so thank You all for comments and answers.

      So long folks !!!

It's nice to hear from you again flea. Thought we had lost you. Blondonor glad you did your homework. Bought my first tray when I was 14, took it to my gramps ( who was an avid collector) and promptly got laughed at, it was a fake. It made me mad that I was dooped. Now I own just about every real tray there is, X 2. Inherited gramps collection, and am going to pass them on to my twins, who share the same passion for them as I do. Wish you the best, Lonewolf.
