    This is a beautifully carved, inlaid, and pieced loon made with ebony, rosewood, and who knows what other kinds of exotic wood?! i love it more each day i have it in front of me! no signature. any info appreciated.

      Beautiful wood decorative piece, I would love it too, the quality, design and workmanship is great. Just a detail, as a Canadian, the loon is one of our symbols, on the 1 dollar value coin, we call it 'the loonie'.

      The beak is much longer and ends in a point compared to this figurine. Probably the artist's rendition of a brown female mallard duck.
