I found this old painting, Its very unique. It reads Angel Gabriel Mass. weathervan 19th century , Allen Saalbury. I found it behind another painting in a very old frame. I dont know much about it, or cant really find much about it. Is this familiar to anyone.

This could be a silkscreen print by Mr. Saalburg (see his biography at askart), rather than a painting. For those unfamiliar with the medium, silkscreen can look like painting (the inks are so rich). It's really impossible to tell from this photograph. If it is a painting, it would be gouache. With a magnifying glass, you should be able to tell if the signature was painted or printed. The lettering also... Hope that helps.
