    Large pewter tipped key with wood body 7 inches long
    Marked with initials DHLG star and floral engraving on the tip sides.
    no clue what it was used for had it for many years.

      If I had to guess I'd say it's a lodge ceremonial piece.

      Thanks I never thought of that. Have to see if i can find a fraternal organization that matches those initial.

      The initials may possibly be their motto; like the Odd Fellows user FLT on everything.

      I was thinking maybe The Order of the Eastern Star, a Masonic appendant body open to both men and women. It was established in 1850
