We bought a set of 4 hand painted plates at a yard sale about 20 years ago. Each plate has a different design on it. I am only showing two of them. The first one has a hand painted mark on the back - I can't make out the first word, the second is ACH followed by Sams Souk N Y. The second plate as well as the two that I didn't show are all marked with the same word or name and then the letters ACH.
The plates measure 7" across and stand about 1 1/4" high. They look Moroccan or Arabic to me but I really have no idea. Is the NY New York maybe? I was hoping someone might know who made these and hopefully tell me how old they are. The rimmed foot on each plate has 2 holes, perhaps to wire and hang on a wall. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
