    I was given these by a friend...not sure of the history but I would love to know if someone has any info
    They were made in Japan..BOLO Hand Forged & Heavy

      I have a couple of machetes/large knives very similar to these -- which where I come from (midwest USA) would just as commonly be known as "corn knives". The usage would be quite similar anyways I suppose...powerfully swing it in a large arc, in order to chop down vegetation/crops/plants. [and they're amusing to display on a shelf, too...??]
