I own a number of Hoya clocks but this is the only one in black glass.
Typically of Hoya it has been precisely and beautifully cut and polished, which is really evident in the valley where the clock bezel sits.
It has a very art deco appeal I think, and if the stickers in photo 1 were removed from the clock it would look so much cleaner and period. I'll do that someday.
It has never been used. The box is as perfect as the clock, and it still has it's original 1982 battery in the special box place made for it. I'm not sure if the battery has charge.......
Most Hoya clocks are called Lofty, but being Japanese they are often called Rofty, and amusingly Hoya have played on this. The script for the word Lofty is so designed that the L could possibly be an R. Love those guys!!
