    Hi found these 2 plates at my local car boot (sunday gone) I just could not put them down, don,t know if they are Chinese or Japanese would like to know what the marks on the back translate too , they do have damage on both plates at 7 oclock on first plate and on the rim (nibbles) on second plate they are both 9.25 inches dia see pictures . Any help in translating or dating them would be helpful

      Chinese, and it looks like a myrhical story on them. Check Gotheborg.com and see if you can identify the marks.

      I think your 2nd one says Kangxi Nian Zhi

      the glaze colors look really good, but remember you can never trust the periods of the marks on the bottom. they are often apocryphal - or done to honor the period rather than done in the period.

      i think the left one is REAL kangxi, thats very good stuff

      the right one is hard to say , maybe a sort of kangxi revival , not so much value

      also the left is unclear it is good enough , but what is it could also be 19 century, i like it
