i found this piece yesterday in Berkeley. it's 6.5" across and 5" high. there are molded designs on the side with peacocks, a fountain, flowers and a roman column. recessed flower/button knob on top. perfect for stacking!

is this a large butter crock?
Nice crock, maybe cheese, or other storage. Which reminds me h2c, a friend of mine is having an estate sale over in Berkeley on this next Sunday 3/19/17, it's on the corner, across the street from the Clairmont entrance, it starts around 10am. He always has nice things, and reasonable prices.
I'm still going to get over to your Thrift stores one of these days and get some of those treasures! :^)
