This is truly a outstanding item and story. As a passport collector I do frequently research on the topics of interest. Within the Ephemera world passport collecting has also his corner and this topic is of growing interest. Well, what you see here is the diplomatic passport of Theodor Heuss who was the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany. He served from 1949 to 1959. His Diplomatic Passport was issued with the number G0001. Thanks to German Diplomat Winfried Jung this important historical document was saved from disposal. Jung is telling that he always keeps the passport with him no matter where he is going. I am glad that we have such people like Jung as he takes care of history. I can't imagine that this unique and important item was for disposal. THANK YOU Mr.Jung for saving his passport!
